I was going back to my house after work from Hanford, and a semi truck was waiting to make a left turn. I kept driving, and the semi started to make the left turn. I was so close to the truck, I didn't even have time to honk the horn. I literally stepped on the brakes as hard as I could, but it wasn't stopping fast enough. I closed my eyes, and tried to brace for the impact, so I held my breath. I opened my eyes, and the truck was coming up fast. I tried to avoid it and turned my steering wheel to the left, but it wasn't fast enough. The only thing I could hear at this point was the screeching of the brakes. I collided with the semi truck, my air bag went off, my windshield made a lovely mosaic pattern all the way across. There was a blast of shock across my chest and a burning sensation making its way through my body. I couldn't breath. I couldn't breath. I couldn't breath.
It took seconds to register what just happened. I needed to get out of the car. There was smell of gas and smoke coming out of my car. I undo my seatbelt, but I still can't breath. I open my door, maybe it will give me some fresh air. I'm so short of breath, I clutch my stomach and roll out of the car. I'm so short of breath, I need to sit next to my car. A lady comes to help me speaking in Spanish "oh dios mio, o dios mio!" She prayed over me, and thank God she did, I needed all the prayer I could get.
Anyways, to make a long story short. The guy didn't see me coming, and decided to make the left turn in his huge semi truck. Now, I'm all bruised up, but thankful that I walked away with the injuries I have. If it had been a second earlier, or if I didn't swerve to the left, it could have been fatal.
Alright, since I have midterms this week, and its Thanksgiving week. I will rest up, and update on my accident.
